Welcome to Whisper Ridge Kennels, Breeders of Brittany and German Shorthaired Pointer dogs of Quality and Distinction. Located in So. California, with an additional location in WA., Whisper Ridge Kennels was founded by Stephanie Kepler (daughter) and Sue Richards (mother), who began their interest and love of showing dogs with their first show dog, CH. Stargazer’s Apollo, a Newfoundland. They soon gravitated to the Sporting breeds, focusing on Brittanys and German Shorthaired Pointers. This genesis was based on an aspiration to contribute to the betterment of these breeds by showing and producing top winning, quality dogs that excel in both the show-ring and the hunt field.

 

This kennel takes great care and pride in breeding dogs that are sound and in good health; but they also ensure these animals have a great temperament and personality. We selectively breed only 1 or 2 litters every few years. All of our puppies are home-raised to ensure that they not only excel in the show-ring/hunt field, but will be wonderful companions and members of their new families for a lifetime.

 

Stephanie brings to the partnership over 10 years of experience in the veterinary field as both a clinical and surgical assistant and is currently continuing her education in both canine & equine medicine.

In addition, Stephanie has been riding since she was 8 years old, and has over 17 years of experience in competitive show jumping as well as training of Hunter/Jumper and pleasure horses.

She has won many titles in both Hunters and Jumpers , as well as English equitation and Pleasure. Stephanie offers a wide range of horse training options as well as lessons, from beginner to advanced. Stephanie runs Whisper Ridge Equestrian in Redmond, Washington. Stephanie is also a certified Equine Electro- Acuscope and Myopulse therapist and provides Equine Game Ready treatments.

 

Sue is an all-breed dog handler, offering a full range of handling services.
Her resume in the dog-show ring includes many class dogs shown to their championships, as well as "specials" in the Best of Breed ring, garnering many wins, including multiple Group wins and placements, as well as Best In Specialty shows.

Sue specializes in the Sporting and Working breeds, primarily (but not limited to) Brittanys, German

Shorthaired Pointers, German Wirehaired Pointers, English Pointers, Newfoundlands, Samoyeds, & Bull Mastiffs. She has also shown a variety of Herding, Non-Sporting, Toy and Terrier Breeds.
